The Institute for the Sciences of Light (ISL) promotes synergies between all relevant actors within the University Paris-Saclay. ISL supports cross-cutting research and PhD projects throughout six Graduate Schools, fosters research results transfer to industry, develops effective international relations and organizes international doctoral summer schools and colloquia.
The Physics Graduate School at Université Paris-Saclay brings together all research in physics, as well as training in physics from the Master's to the Doctorate levels. It covers all fields, from fundamental to applied physics, from theory, modelling and simulation to instrumentation, from laboratory experiments to large instruments put on large research infrastructures or into space, from the core of physics to its interfaces with other fields. It also integrates numerous socio-economic issues at the interface with physics (energy, health, environment, etc.).
The Chemistry Graduate School trains professionals in the chemical industry of the future. Research and education are structured around the overarching concept of sustainable chemistry in three main areas of expertise: (i) Physical and analytical chemistry: elementary reactions, experimental and theoretical approaches, (ii) Inorganic, coordination and materials chemistry: interfaces and nanoscience and (iii) Organic chemistry: design and synthesis of multifunctional molecular structures.
The School’s activities are also focused around the major challenges in society in the fields of energy, the environment and health.
